Health Inequities And Disparities In The Covid 19 Pandemic And Impact On Cancer Care

A Minorities in Cancer Research Scientific Symposium.

The COVID-19 pandemic is an international crisis of near unprecedented proportions. In the US, we are seeing the emergence of major disparities in cases per capita and death rates among African Americans and Latinos. These disparities are far reaching and have major impact on the health care system, including as it relates to cancer care in communities serving racial and ethnic minority patients. In this session we will present observations, evidence, and perspective about the health inequities and disparities related to the COVID-19 pandemic and how it is significantly exacerbating disparities in cancer care among racial and ethnic minorities and the medically underserved.
