STORYLINE:
Heads of the Iraqi tribal council on Sunday made a symbolic demonstration of the end of the Saddam Hussein's era by turning a portrait of the former president upside down.
The sheiks met in Baghdad under the protection of coalition forces.
They discussed matters relating to the future of the country and made a symbolic show of the end of Saddam regime.
During Saddam's time, tampering with the former president's image was punishable with prison or even death.
Meanwhile in Najaf, south of Baghdad, 10-thousand Shiites celebrated the fifth anniversary of the death of one of their main leaders, Mohammed Sadiq Al-Sadr.
Al-Sadr was assassinated in 1998 in an attack many Shiites have blamed on the Saddam regime.
The imam was an outspoken opposition to Saddam and his persecution of the Shiite community.
