Migrants March To Un Special Session On Drugs

(11 Apr 2016) A group of Central American migrants who have been victims of the region's war on drugs gathered in Mexico City on Sunday, to protest their treatment along with human rights activists.
'The Caravan for Peace, Life and Justice' started their journey in Honduras in late March and has travelled through El Salvador, Guatemala and Mexico - some of the places most affected by the war on drugs.
The group plans to keep on travelling to New York City to be present during a special session of the UN General Assembly (UNGASS) on drugs between 19-21 April.
Alejandro Solalinde, a Catholic priest and social justice activist, said Central American migrants receive a harsh treatment from the hands of the Mexican government, cartel bosses and drug lords.
