Christine Borgman On Scholarship In The Networked World

Christine Borgman, Presidential Chair of Information Studies at UCLA delivers her Oliver Smithies Lecture at Balliol College, University of Oxford. Dr Borgman uses her forthcoming book, 'Big Data, Little Data, No Data' as a basis for the lecture, in which she outlines her ideas about how the nature of scholarship is changing. Technology is changing how academics collect, collate and store data to such an extent that attention must be paid now to this important process, or we risk losing data which could prove invaluable to generations to come.
