Scenario: Uncle needed to fix his computer. So I tried installing windows updates. It failed with error code 80092004.

SOLUTION:
I manually downloaded microsoft updates KB4474419 and KB4490628 from microsofts update website.
You can find the manual downloads from microsofts website. They have a catalog website starting with:
catalog.update.microsoft
Again,.. this worked for me... but may not work for you.
The original update that was failing for me was 4493132 or kb4493132. Some .net update.
Sorry I was originally going to include the links for updates, but I recently received a content warning because I included a link to a bad website. I don't want my youtube channel to get taken down so I'm gonna be VERY careful these days posting links.
