U.S. Sen. Tim Scott, a Republican presidential hopeful, weighed in on attempts at police reform in the country and what his goals are. He told voters during the portion of his "Conversation with the Candidate" town hall that aired exclusively online that talks of reform failed because Democrats were "more interested in the issue than the solution." In this town hall video, Scott also talks about his thoughts on systemic racism and answers other questions on prescription drug costs and how he would work to unite the country.
Conversation with the Candidate is a town hall-style program. It is intended to allow the candidate to convey their points of view on a wide range of topics. During the program, the moderator may challenge the candidates’ assertions, but every fact may not be checked in real-time.
