The Weakest Video Game Character

The first episode of a brand new series.

Over the years, there have been some laughably weak main characters starring in video games, characters who you're almost embarrassed to be controlling. In this series, I'll show footage of these characters' greatest feats of "power". Wario and Kirby need not apply.

This episode's star is the forgotten Sega character, Alex Kidd.

"I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
He's gotta be strong
And he's gotta be fast
And he's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero"

Well, Bonnie; Alex Kidd is here, will he be good enough? No!? Oh, look: Now you made him cry!

Poor old Alex. First appearing in 1986, he was once one of Sega's biggest stars, but he vanished off the face of the video game earth when in 1991, a blue hedgehog named Sonic was born. Alex hasn't had his own game since. (although he did recently appear as a playable character in Sega Super Star Tennis) But maybe there was a good reason for this; Alex probably accidently killed himself buttering some toast or losing a game of Noughts And Crosses years ago, Sega just never told us and maybe the Alex in Sega Super Star Tennis wasn't even the real one.

Now, if you'd excuse me, I'm off to buy Sonic Unleashed from a certain video game store...

Do you know any inspiringly weak video game characters? Feel free to mention them in the comments and there may be a video about them in the future!

Note: Sigh, YET ANOTHER FUCKING VIDEO THAT IS APPARENTLY "No longer available"... I'm getting mighty sick of this crap. As always, put &fmt=18 at the end of the URL to watch it in high quality.
