During the Second World War, there were a huge number of war crimes committed inside of the concentration camps. However when Dachau concentration camp was liberated there was a number of SS guards who were executed in the site. The American Army liberated Dachau, and there were a number of incidents in which German SS guards were slaughtered. In one incident a machine gun team executed around 15 guards.
But there was also a large amount of execution occurring at the camp in revenge killings. There prisoners also enacted some revenge upon those who had made them suffer heavily and the Americans turned a blind eye to this. But at the end of the war, investigations were made into the war crime that occurred in the Dachau Liberation Reprisals, but very little was done regarding this.
