This massage can be particularly helpful if you, or your partner, are experiencing any type of pain and/or tightness in the hips, or radiating pain down the leg (sciatica)⚡️

First, you should know that the hip muscles are some of the densest and strongest muscles in the body 😱

Begin with your partner lying face down on something about mid-thigh height. Next, LOCATE THE MUSCLES: Feel the butt. Squeeze the butt. Butts deserve love, too! Then locate the largest bump on the outside of the thigh bone; this is called the greater trochanter. Now, locate the sacrum bone📍; that flat triangular shaped bone that's nested between those booty dimples, and keep moving down and down until you feel the tip of the tailbone (for reference, it’s only about an inch or two above the good ol’ sphincter). Connect those two points with your fingers, and that will be your initial massage line. What lies under the skin of that line is the piriformis muscle.

THE STANCE- take a very wiiiide stance. Nope. Even wider! Now scoot your feet away from the table about 2 feet. The purpose of this is so you can literally plank yourself with one elbow on the persons glute, as this will allow you to use more of your body weight to generate force rather than your arm muscles alone.

FUN FACT: The most amount of concentrated force you can use is directing all your weight through your elbow tip. You may find, though, that too much tip can be uncomfortable and cause the person to clench. On the flip side, the LEAST amount of force you can apply is dispersing your weight through your forearm bone. Butt (see what I did there), you may also find that if you disperse too much force through the forearm it will likely NOT allow you to go deep enough. So, you need to find the balance!
