From the terrible landslide that occurred in La Paz, Bolivia that swept away 66 houses to a major landslide that occurred in Gansu, China; or the landslide that caused tragic of catastrophic failures rockfalls.
A disastrous landslide hit La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, destroying many residences. The landslide was triggered after heavy rainfall struck the region on April 30, 2019. Severe subsidence caused 66 houses to be completely destroyed and 88 families were left homeless of catastrophic failures rockfalls.
Following long-term heavy rainfall in the Gansu Province of northwest China, a major landslide occurred on a road. Heavy rain for many days causes the surface layer of soil and rock to become loose and susceptible to landslides. The landslide swallowed the road, blocking traffic of catastrophic failures rockfalls.
Local authorities in northwest China's Shaanxi Province reported that a total of 39 missing from 11 households, and an initial investigation revealed that eight people were unaccounted for of catastrophic failures rockfalls.
This event occurred in the rural area of Yunnan, famed for its challenging terrain and breathtaking scenery. The enormous rocks tumbled down the mountainside, slamming onto the road below with significant force of catastrophic failures rockfalls.
