World War I saw an unprecedented outpouring of literature responding to the war, particularly in poetry, each side creating its own unique style and voice. In a unique Live! from the Library presentation, Mark Jordan, Rhonda Taylor, and Rob Seitelman will include an overview of the conflict along with performances of poetry written by soldiers from the British Empire, Ireland, France, Germany, Eastern Europe, and America. The words of those at home, particularly women, will also be represented, as will songs relating to the impact of the war.
These three local actors will revisit World War I era poetry and song while commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War.
