First Responders Describe Chaotic Scene Of Downtown Sacramento Shooting

Days after the mass shooting where six people were killed and 12 others injured, Sacramento fire and police personnel trained for an active shooter situation on Thursday at the old Clayton B. Wire Elementary School campus near Lemon Hill Avenue and Stockton Boulevard. The drill was scheduled well before the shooting Sunday on 10th and K streets in downtown Sacramento, but first responders say it highlights the importance of such training. "These events are rare, but they’re very high risk and we’ll be ready for them just like we were Sunday," said Eric Saylors, assistant chief of EMS with the Sacramento Fire Department.
