Endometrial polyps are usually benign growths in the uterine cavity that can cause dysfunctional bleeding and fertility issues by interfering with embryo implantation. In some cases, these polyps can result in hyperplasia or worse, endometrial cancer. Usually they are found on ultrasound but best seen with sonohysterogram. If you have abnormal bleeding, make sure that you are evaluated for polyps.
