Delusions and hallucinations can be difficult to understand.
Most people believe that a delusion is ONLY a strong belief that can be changed if challenged by others. But that couldn't be farthest from the truth. Most individuals experiencing delusions tend to be psychotic in some ways.
Psychosis is not a diagnosis like many people think. It is a symptom of a bigger problem. The "bigger problem" may be severe depression, a personality disorder such as borderline personality disorder or schizophrenia.
