Six men who were part of a crime gang that flooded the area with drugs valued at up to almost three quarters of a million pounds have been put behind bars for a combined total of more than 33 years.
The 11-strong group - which featured infamous former fugitive Daley Smith - played their part in bringing between £459,300 and £742,340 worth of cocaine, heroin, and crack cocaine into Crewe and the surrounding areas from Liverpool over a 13-month period between October 2021 and November 2022.
......During a search of a car linked to Smith, officers discovered more than £15,000 worth of drugs hidden in a crisp packet.
....Five gang members, including ringleader Merold Stennett, were jailed on July 28 for a total of more than 45 years. Now the remaining six have been sentenced as part of Cheshire Constabulary's Operation Attached - an investigation into a class A drugs conspiracy led by an organised crime gang in Crewe.
The group were jailed at Chester Crown Court between August 10 and 17 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin. They are:
Jake Floyd, 30, formerly of Derrington Avenue, Crewe – 7 years
Daley Smith, 34, formerly of Rose Way, Sandbach – 6 years
Robbie Hart, 29, formerly of Charlesworth Street, Crewe – 6 years
Alexander Sinclair, 27, of Hungerford Road, Crewe – 5 years, 10 months
Shadat Kagolo, 28, formerly of Long Beam Road, Sandbach – 5 years, six months
Aaron Dodd, 31, formerly of Cartwright Road, Haslington, Crewe – 3 years
The court was told that Floyd had been given a deputy role in the conspiracy, helping to orchestrate the movements and supply of large amounts of class A drugs. He was also responsible for the storage of drugs and criminal proceeds.
On June 3 last year, Floyd was stopped and searched by police at Bridgemere Garden Centre in Nantwich, having been witnessed acting suspiciously. Part way through the search, Floyd fled and discarded a bag that was found to contain heroin and crack cocaine, as well as more than £5,000 in cash.
