While we know that about 40 percent of children have demonstrated prior infection to COVID 19 throughout the pandemic, what we don't know is how long and robust natural immunity lasts for. We know that people can get sick again even after getting COVID infection the first time. We also know that after infection, getting vaccinated is the best way to produce a very robust and long lasting immune response to protect against future infection.
