Dr. Michael Joyner, a Physiologist and Anesthesiologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, reviews results of his article appearing in the September 2020 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings. Using antibody-rich plasma from patients who recovered from COVID-19, this research was done to establish the safety of the infusion given to extremely ill hospitalized patients. Using a scale of not-related, possibly-related, probably-related, and related, he found most reactions to the plasma fell in the possibly or probably related.
