BURMA - ELECTIONS: On the brink of ethnic violence
On 7th November 2010, Burma will vote in national elections for the first time in twenty years. After Sunday\'s poll, the military regime says it will hand over power to a civilian government. But critics say the election is simply democratic window-dressing, and that the junta will maintain a tight grip on the country. At the same time, there are warnings that mounting ethnic tensions could come to overshadow the vote.
