Big Ben 3 Quarter Hour Hammer Testing In The Belfry Restoration Process 2022 No Chimes

While I was up the Elizabeth tower to see the restoration work in progress, I got the rare opportunity to see the quarter hammers moving but without striking the bells. They were positioned so that they wouldn’t hit the bells, this phase was towards the end of the restoration when the chime train was being tested, before the hammers were moved forwards to strike the bells again. You can hear the fly fan after. Filmed September 2022.
