The Cancer Research Group Collaborative Group (CRG-CG) represented by its President Dr Fadi Farhat, and in collaboration with Arab Medical Association Against Cancer (AMAAC) represented by its President Dr Sami Khatib, are hosting the “2020 abc Oncology Educational Course”. Virtually this year, this course represents a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals to discuss cancer optimal care with key oncology experts of the region.
This module titled "Anticancer Treatment in COVID-19 Era" was held on 27 August 2020. It was moderated by Dr Sami Khatib and Dr Ihab Nukari, General Director at Al Bairouni University Hospital of Oncology - Syria and tackled the following topics: "Challenges in Managing Cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic" presented by Dr Maher Saifo, Associate Professor of Clinical Oncology, Faculty of Medicine, Damascus University, Syria; "Case Introduction for a Transition From Parenteral to Oral Therapy" presented by Dr Mohamad Kadri, President of the Syrian Association of Oncology; "Oral Chemotherapy in the Era of COVID-19" presented by Dr Ola Khorshid, Professor of Medical Oncology at NCI Cairo University, Egypt; "How should you Prepare for a Potential Second-Wave of the Coronavirus", presented by Dr Bassim Al Bahrani, Director of the National Oncology Center, the Royal Hospital, Muscat, Oman. A panel discussion animated by Dr Maha Manachi, Hemato-Oncologist at Al Bairouni Univesity Hospital of Oncology, Syria, Dr Amal Nasser, Hemato-Oncologist, Al Zahraa Hospital UMC, Lebanon, Dr Mohamed Salameh, Former Director-General of King Hussein Cancer Center, Jordan
followed each of the sessions.
