Trauma is a critical issue that is a focus across OJJDP’s Youth Violence Prevention Network. Enhancing trauma-informed approaches, integrating trauma-informed approaches into multiple sectors, and focusing on community resilience strategies are all important elements. This web conference will highlight several frameworks and models for trauma-informed approaches and provide an introduction to understanding community-level trauma and the implications for successful violence prevention efforts. Join us for a web conference exploring a new topic in the field: tailoring prevention work for communities that have been impacted by trauma. Be prepared to share your thoughts as we discuss how we currently understand trauma, its transmission, and approaches to preventing violence in communities impacted by trauma. To obtain handouts and documents for this video, please contact the OJJDP NTTAC Help Desk at ojjdptta@usdoj.gov or by phone at 1-833-647-0513.
