China's Communist Party Congress ended on Saturday, cementing leader Xi Jinping's status as the 'core' of the party.
Meaning, Xi will sail through to a third term as China's most powerful leader since Mao Zedong.
"With the joint efforts of all the delegates, the conference was a complete success. It has achieved the purpose of unifying thoughts, strengthening confidence, clarifying direction, and inspiring fighting spirit."
During the 20th session in Tiananmen Square, the Communist Party elected a new 205-member Central Committee that excluded Premier Li Keqiang and the fourth-highest-ranking official Wang Yang.
The 25-member Politburo and its Standing Committee --- China's most powerful decision-making body -- are drawn from the Central Committee.
According to analysts, the seven-member Politburo Standing Committee will now consist entirely of Xi loyalists, signifying the consolidation of Xi's power.
Among the amendments to the party constitution, the "Two Establishes" define Xi as the "core" leader of the party and consolidate his ideas as the guiding principles of the country's future development.
The "Two Safeguards" affirm Xi's "core" status within the party.
On Sunday, Xi is expected to secure an unprecedented third term as party chief and unveil the new lineup of the Politburo Standing Committee.
